Sjack Abeling's wheel

Sjack Abeling's wheel which has been so much discussed on various energy forums is a bit of a mystery to me. I have so many questions which seem to me to undermine his claims to have built a successful gravity wheel. The most trivial-seeming and yet pertinant one for me is why show a video of a non-working wheel (i.e. one with the weights removed) and why now, seemingly some long time after he made it? His patent is apparently fully under way and his
intellectual property rights secured so either show us the working version or, if he has been advised against it by his backers, why show us anything at all?

He claims that his machine works in a certain way, using descriptions so accurately matched to Bessler's own descriptions that one is immediately suspicious of them. I have considerable information about how Bessler's machine worked and I can state with some authority that Abeling's wheel bears little or no similarity to Bessler's.

The concept which he appears to be showing in his much-discussed diagram has no connection whatsoever with Bessler's. But having expressed my doubts I have to consider the possibility that he has managed to create a gravity wheel and one which might include certain similarities to the concept which lies behind Bessler's and I await developments with interest.

My own work to replicate Bessler's wheel continues and I am confident that a working version will be made within a few weeks if not sooner. If I fail I believe it will be due to my own clumsy engineering skills and at that point I will pass the job onto my American friends.

  1. I've been reading some of the mentioned discussions.

Seems that his patent application is intensionally not-working, leaving out the construction of the driving weights themselves. His explanations to private persons and media though, fill in a dotted line.
    - weights connected in pairs
    - pull/push action
    - shot put action near the top of the wheel on at least one weight.

I can't do the math involved, but have a theory and rough sketch of 2 weights being connected by spring. One takes a wider path through or around the wheel, and loads the spring. At the bottom of the wheel, the inner weight interacts with a ramp, causing it to take a shortcut up. this further loads the spring. When the outer weight starts its ascend, the spring and wheel cut-outs channel the weights upwards as the spring load is released (weights taking path to get them to close in).
Harvesting the centrifuginal loads from the springs apparently (Abelings indirect accounts) require very low friction for them to nett a gain in speed going into the next revolution of the wheel. His confirmed cooperation with glass experts and a glue supplier might suggest a low-friction requirement.

The weights being "on" the wheel for part or all of the time might give them "traction" against gravity in their way back up.
Both Bessler's and Abeling's wheels seems to require zero or minimal input to get started, so some overbalance is supposed to be present in the weight, or the springs involved.

All highly speculative on my part of course. Would be interested to hear contrary or additional ideas.

I just hope that if Abeling's got something, at least he won't take the secret to his grave. Hopefully his findings will offer insight to other to create open source free energy machines that do not infringe on his patent.

  2. This design will work. He lifts his weight(s) with a scissor closing effect between the second barrier and the wheel guide which then pushes or launches the weight to the top and into the weight slot. The wheel is always unbalanced on the right side. It has enough leverage on the right side to move the weights up in their proper sequence. See my drawing at callowayengines dot com.
