The benefits of COVID?

It’s an odd title but it does seem to have had some benefits for me and some others apparently. As many of you will know I sold our house and moved out at the end of March thinking that this would give me an advantage in securing a new house.  It didn’t, not immediately - because there were no suitable houses for sale, due to the effects of lock down. There were houses for sale, but they were usually too expensive, too run down needing too much money spent to make them right.  Or too far from here etc.

But at last we have found one and we won it, despite having to get it by taking the sealed bids approach. For those who are unfamiliar with this method of determining the best offer, it happens when there too many people after the same house.  They ask for ‘full and final’ offers in a sealed envelope by a certain hour of a certain day. On the hour all the envelopes are opened, eight in our case, and the best offer is picked.  There was one other bid which matched ours, but as we had actually moved out having sold our previous house, and the other people were still in their’s, we were chosen.  There are too many people looking for houses to buy and too few for sale which has boosted prices unfortunately.  Now due to Covid, conveyancing is taking about twelve weeks even though we’ve sold our house and that should shorten the time.  So even though our offer was accepted we won’t be in our house before December!

So we have been living with one of my daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter and Millie the black Labrador. We have lived in one small bedroom for over five months and it’s not been easy, but there is light at the end of this seemingly very long tunnel.  It’s just possible that we might move in before December, I hope so, it used to take four to eight weeks before Covid, but due to staff shortages it’s going to take twelve or thirteen weeks, so they tell me.

So, I hear you ask, “what benefit did you find?”  Well I have no office or workshop or tools, so all I could do was ……….THINK.  Thinking without the bother of building, drawing and testing has made me study the whole shebang, the whole picture along with every detail and all that falls between. I’ve re-examined my conclusions and looked for errors, omissions and inaccurate conclusions in my  various hypotheses and I think I have found a way to get to the answer.  I have been here many times before as you also know, but this time I’ve been able eliminate some steps I would have taken if it weren’t for enforced physical idleness. I can recommend a period of intensive cogitating about this subject, it can surprise you when you least expect it.

I can’t wait to get back to building in my new workshop, but I’m guessing it’s not going to happen until next year. You have to be an incurable optimist in this field of research, and being obsessive about it helps.

I’m writing down and drawing all the steps I need to take and planning the process to a successful conclusion, I hope. If it works then I’m certain that this design will match what Bessler did, because so much of it relies on his many drawings.

To those many people who emailed me asking about my progress, if any, thanks for your encouragement and kind words, watch out for my announcement which will appear as soon as I’ve built and tested the design.

  1. I agree with you JC Sir, the benefits of Covid...

Covid has been a curse and grief to many...and also, good to some... living under locked down conditions has set some of us to introspect...

I even started to learn basic physics as I missed schooling... The solution for BW can be found by constant references to elementary physics principles... During non-covid times we couldn't think freely due to lot of people movement... There were many things not clear to me before...
There's only one aspect that I would like to highlight in this blog...

It is not only you, but most who always use the words 'if it works'...

I always wonder why there is this doubt... Because, in my view, if a person has worked hard and sacrificed more than half of his life on a single pursuit like BW and finally came up with the solution then where is the question of it going wrong?...

Because, BW mechanism is unlike that of other inventions where there can be some scope for ambiguity... Here, Bessler has left sufficient descriptions and writings, there are those narrations of observers of that time and also, the availability of numerous failed devices designs... All this clearly give us ample chances to rule out mistakes...

Despite all this being at our disposal we still seem to often have unbelief on our own efforts... One just shouldn't take the plunge of building before he has performed sufficient thought experiments...

I can openly state here that the mechanism of BW is such that one should get that feeling of being enlightened upon hitting the correct design secret... It is one in a billion feelings... Bessler is a legend... We know much about his life and attitude... We believe him... It is time people realised that it is of prime importance that we start thinking like him...

Sometimes, don't we ponder why there is so much delay in reinventing BW despite being aware of its simplicity?...

We shouldn't be in a hurry to start building the same unless we are too sure of it... My first build was a disaster... When I look back I realise how stupid I had been to have decided on that design... That was when I put a full stop on building...

Yellow Sir, I would like to say that instead of enquiring about the build we should ask about the secret mechanism...

Life is Full of surprises and mysteries... It takes a lot of effort and also patience...

Simplicity is the key in understanding BW... Now we can understand why Bessler was so much a paranoid...

    1. You made a good point Suresh, why do we use the words ‘if it works’? For me it’s because I have so often thought and indeed said, that I knew how it worked and then had to admit that I didn’t!

But now I’ve decided not to add that phrase, and I thank you for pointing that out Suresh. My confidence is high, has always been high and will always be high, not from delusions of grandeur, (I hope!) but from my knowledge of much of Bessler’s secret content. I know that’s easy for me to say, but I’ve taken advantage of the lock down to write down everything I’ve discovered, just in case I’m unable write and publish my book about it, it can still be published.

  2. Hello John,
    I am thx4, "https://www.youtube.com/c/THX4-one/videos"
I think we share the same values regarding Bessler, i.e. if you discover the secret of his wheel, you will spread it as widely as possible for free I think?
I have pretty much all the tools and software needed to make a working prototype. I imagine but you never know that we could collaborate in public by opening a dedicated post on the BesslerWheel.com website (when it gets better lol), you would be the architect of the project and I would be the executor, I think that this combination of means will come to the end of 3 centuries of mysteries. a very great public moment. When do you think?
    Greetings JP

    1. Hi JP, sorry for the delay in responding to your kind offer. We do indeed share the same values regarding Bessler, and I sincerely appreciate your offer to collaborate. I admit I’ve had several similar offers over a number of years and have accepted about three I think, the trouble is they don’t seem to work. It’s probably my fault, I prefer to work alone, although right at the beginning of this long journey i and three others worked together for several months but in the end we each went our separate ways. If someone offered to work with me it would be so much easier if they lived within a couple of miles of my house. We could meet and discuss this thing face to face in one or the other’s workshop, but we are spread across the globe with only the internet to link us.

Thank you very much for the offer but I think I’ll struggle on on my own JP, but I will eventually publish everything I’ve found and I believe it will result in a working model, even if I fail finish building.

  4. Someone was snooping around asking questions on a forum last weekend about gravity wheels, I thought they might be CIA, they said they were 'inevitable'.

  5. I've been in contact with Scott. He says the PHP providers for the forum have changed/upgraded their code. This happen one time previously, and he was able to revert back to the earlier code that worked, and we carried on. This time it is properly broke, and he is not sure if he can fix it - let's give him some time and encouragement. Any suggestions ? He does an amazing job, at his cost, providing a stable forum platform for most of us to visit and pontificate and ruminate things Bessler at ! And asks very little in return.

  6. Update : Scott says a fix from him is probably out of his league this time. Forum and wiki page down, but logs don't show a problem, even after the PHP upgrade, therefore doesn't know where to look. Says he will look into hiring an experienced PHP developer to see if there is a way forward. Obviously that option would cost him $ so maybe start thinking about dusting off the cobwebs from your purse and donating some coin over at BW.com to help him out. I'm sure he'll give us the options, one way or another.

    1. Thank you for that update on the forum. Let’s hope that Scott comes up with a solution and perhaps we can help to defray the costs. It’s undoubtedly the best forum for discussions about Bessler.

    3. John - I'm silent from the Bessler forum. I've read about the problem with the PHP upgrade on google and it involves copying something into one of the directories. If the Bessler forum is run on apache, then this link relates how to do the upgrade: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/3185272/why-browser-is-trying-to-download-my-php-script-file If you need help with it, please get in touch with me and I'll do my best to assist Scott with the forum.

  9. Scott’s latest, “ I think my only option might be to change hosting to a VPS (virtual private server) but that costs $80 a month versus $10 a month now on the shared server 😕“

What do you all think? Surely we raise make 80$ a month between us?

  10. For 20 odd years Scott has kept BW.com as a privately funded forum and discussion board. Kudos to him. With a donate option for those who remember, or are able to assist him in the cost upkeep. It has been great. Perhaps the time has come to change it to a commercial based model. For arguments sake, many of us are also dual members, and sometimes contributors, over at Stephan Hartmans Free Energy Site OverUnity.com gravity wheel and mechanic sections https://overunity.com/ IIRC the adds etc are not too intrusive or burdensome. You get used to them I think. Perhaps if Scott did take on this model then he wouldn't have to worry about personally financing his site, or donations, or benefactors, that might be sporadic. And BW.com could be self sustaining and around for a lot longer ? Does this solve his hosting costs problem long term ?

  11. That is assuming moving to a PVS at greater monthly expense is his only option to resurrect the discussion board and retrieve the information stored there.

The True Story of Bessler’s Perpetual Motion Machine.
