An Update and a Window on my Intentions..

I have been asked many times, "where is the wheel we were promised?" for, goodness knows, how many years now.  Well I think (hope) the answer is close.  As all of us who build wheels have experienced that, we know feeling, the solution is 'in sight' and 'confidence is high', only to find that we were wrong and success is as far away as ever.  So, as I have said many times during the last three years, and have even encoded a brief summary of it at the foot of each blog, I do know the secret to Bessler's wheel and I have been trying to design it into a working wheel.  I have finally decided to publish everything and to time it with the finishing of the wheel. My wheel is almost finished.

At the same time I have completed a detailed description of the basic principle, as a PDF file, and included some of the many clues which support the Bessler/Collins principle. A full description of the design is also included with numerous illustrations showing how I used many of Bessler's clues. I have also almost finished my new website which also provides some of the same clue details as are shown in the PDF file, however there are too many to include all of them on my web site.

I have not used, nor am I even aware of the many clues apparently encoded in Bessler's two portraits which apparently hold information on the construction of the wheel.  No, my clues lie elsewhere and will be accepted immediately they are linked to the Bessler/Collins principle.

My plan is to try to finish the wheel in the next three to four weeks, and then dependant on whether or not it works, I shall publish the web site with or without a video showing the wheel spinning. I know that the video on its own will be insufficient for those who cannot be bothered to read the explanation which will be available both as a digital document, and on the websites, so I shall have to leave it to others to check my work. Without the video an animation would be preferable. to nothing.

Of course, in a perfect world I would like to present a finished and working wheel, but although the concept is simple enough,  I have found it quite difficult to build it on a flat disk. With hindsight I would have been wise to build it three-dimensionally if you see what I mean. The levers swivel on thin bolts and because of their (the bolts not the levers!) limited length this means there is a very shallow depth for all the parts to move through without interfering with each other. The bolts are not connected at their other ends to another disc so the whole structure is liable to flex and this causes many problems. Still, with a little finesse (such as bending any levers whose action might be obstructed by another part!) I think I can complete the wheel and have it working. Of course another solution would be to find a skilled engineer who would be prepared to build it for me according to my design, while keeping absolutely silent about it. It would also be good to find a skilled animator who could make an animation showing exactly how everything works, alas I know of no such people.

It is true that I have had offers in the past and they are prepared to make such an animation but then it turns out that they are not really the professional or skilled amateur that I seek, but rather people with the best of intentions with some limited skill and experience but not enough for my needs.  I have seen animations that look so real they could be simply a video recording,   Also there have been offers to build my design for me, but in this case I need someone who lives close by and with whom I can visit and work with, but again these kind offers have come from other countries and such long distance communications do not appeal to me.

So I think peraps it is nearly time to publish all of it and sit back and wait for the reactions.

  1. That's good to hear John. Hopefully you'll have the stage alone.

  2. It sounds like you are rapidly approaching closure on your Bessler wheel research, John. I do hope you get something physical to work. But, if not, that does not mean the principle is useless. Virtual modeling with a good, glitch free simulation would tell what the potential of your and, supposedly, Bessler's principle was very quickly. It would be very helpful to anyone doing a future sim for you (like me, for instance) if you could provide exact part measurements and particularly the masses for the parts in your physical build. For any springs used, knowing the spring constants is also very helpful. With a sim there is no need to worry about colliding or rubbing parts interfering with the motion of the mechanics of your wheel. Like you, I'm rapidly approaching closure on my own Bessler research. In fact, I might even have a virtual "runner" in another model or two. It's a rather exhilarating situation to be in. Sort of like a "high roller" gambler that is getting ready to risk his entire net worth on the next throw of a pair of dice. The higher the stakes, the bigger the adrenalin / endorphin levels become!

  3. Excellent John. Whether your finished wheel turns or not (and I hope it does) your PDF file and web site descriptions of the Bessler/Collins principle etc will be both hugely entertaining and informative at the very least. Perhaps then this endeavour shared by many for so long can take a giant step forward launched from your shoulders. Good for you.

  4. I doubt John has solved anything. I will not be sharing anything here on this blog ever again, I gave away my principle here on the 1st of august this year and it is up to researchers and experimenters of the future to determine if there is any truth to the matter.

  5. For those wondering ?

There is part of a sling shown in the main drawings, its also shown in one of zhe portrait pictures behind bessler hanging on the pillar, a spring attaches to the end of it, is what it is for is locking the spring around the axel of the arm of the sling. It actually worked exactly like a modern skeet thrower mechanism except it was a sling, it was much bigger than a skeet thrower and stood upright.
At the top of the wheel the crossbeam locks the spring up, at about six o'clock on the wheel the crossbeam is unlocked by the weight of another weight that becomes heavy at six o'clock and the crossbar is swung back when the spring unlocks overbalancing the wheel as it does so, when it swings back its weight goes onto another spring that causes the overbalance, there is two springs on the crossbeam, one that locks up and another that transfers the momentum to overbalance the wheel, the unlocking weight can be attached to the crossbeam by pulleys and strings .
    - Orffyreus

Its works like a swing, a child on a swing, except he goes around 360 degrees and locks the spring under his own weight up at the top, so its pre-loaded and then when it unlocks at the bottom it swings back - unbalancing the wheel, and that is what I explained to my friend prince Karl that day when I was showing him my wheel in the big long room in the castle .
    -Orffyreus

It is basically a swing, the crossbeam is the childs body on a swing, at the top it swings forward locking up the spring under its own weight, so it is pre-loaded with a tensioned spring, at the bottom around the six o'clock area the spring unlocks, like a spring would unlock on a skeet thrower when you pull the lever, the spring unlocks on the crossbeam and it swings back throwing its weight onto the opposing spring unbalancing the wheel when it pushes against the other spring .
    -Orffyreus

The part that lines up the spring with the axel, it is shown in the main drawings wrapped around the axel, the lever with the curved end, a string or spring attaches to it, you could do a spring and the a rope or chain onto the spring or attach a rope or chain onto the curved part of the lever and then attach a spring .
The reason that a chain, twine, string or rope is used is that the spring has to let go so that the weight of the crossbeam can go onto the opposing spring to overbalance the wheel .
Letting go is common the all the principles, all three different principles of orffyrean perpetual motion.
    -orffyreus

The four posts above signed Orffyreus are by me and are genuine, there were slings that were used in warfare that worked in an almost identical way to a modern skeet thrower . Days before the first BW was invented I went to a house and examined one of those slings, the people had it in their house as a family heirloom, their immediate ancestors had used it in battle, I pulled the arm of the sling back and the spring locked up when it became aligned with the axel, there was a separate lever for unlocking and it swung up when I pulled the lever, the separate lever for unlocking it became the weight that became heavy after six o'clock on the wheel.

  6. I still have not resolved that problem with viewing youtube videos after my recent Windows 10 "upgrade", but things are looking a bit more hopeful. I joined a computer forum and told everyone there my tale of woe post upgrade and one of the members emailed me and said he has a link to an AMD graphics driver upgrade that he thinks will work. I've also gotten a toll free number for the MS technical support department and, hopefully, they will be able to straighten out my now buggy graphics adapter. Their technicians can actually take remote control of one's computer and correct the problem for him! Oh, btw, I found out that everyone who got the free upgrade has exactly 30 days to decide if they want to keep it or restore their computer's system to its state before the upgrade. Why 30 days? After that time one's old OS will automatically be deleted from his computer's hard drive to help free up space. Needless to say, this can be a real pain in the arse if one does not have the original OS on disc ready for installation.

Update. I just finished the construction of model # 1203 (which incorporates that last minute DT portrait clue concerning a different lever attachment point for one of the coordinating ropes) and gave it a quick Run to see how everything was working. So far, it looks like the most smoothly shifting model I have ever constructed and I noticed no stalling of its prime mover lever during the brief test. Tomorrow I'll run the CoM location stability test. If the model passes that test, then this could actually finally be "it"! Good thing too, because I want to finally get all of this modeling and testing behind me so I can get on to the next phase: presentation of a working wheel design to the solution starved masses out there in the pm chasing world.

  7. I installed the driver that fellow on the computer forum recommended and...it did not work! So, I just called the MS technical support department and got the "We are experiencing higher than normal call volume" message. I set it up so they will call me back. I should get a call back, they estimate, in about 263 minutes. That's about 4 and a half hours! Guess I'm not the only one having "issues" with their "free" Windows 10 upgrade. The new OS costs about $120 if you buy it. However, when I consider all of the time and effort I've expended so far trying to get it to work on my Toshiba notebook computer, I've probably "spent" several times that amount! Going back to my original OS, Windows 7, is starting to look like an inevitability.

    1. It's now well over 263 minutes and I'm still waiting for my support callback. Something tells me it ain't gonna happen. I'll try calling them. I'm now on the phone and maybe, just maybe I'll talk to a live person! A message keeps saying they'll be with me "shortly". Five minutes so far and all I'm hearing are ads telling me how great Windows 10 is. No mention of all of the people having problems with their downloads. Wonder why? Ten minutes so far and nothing but canned music interrupted by more ads. Fifteen minutes and no live support person yet. Twenty minutes now and my ear is starting to ache. I've lowered the volume on the phone and it helps a little. Thirty minutes and I've had about as much pain and frustration as I can stand. I'll try calling again tomorrow.

    2. Well, incredible as it may sound, I think I have a workable solution to the youtube video viewing problem I've been experiencing. I found a post by a guy on the net who seemed to have a problem similar to mine and tried his solution which was very easy. All I had to do was go to my Internet Options box and click on that last tab that is marked "Advanced". Once I did that, I checked the box marked "Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering" and, lo and behold, when I went to youtube again, the videos were appearing! They were still a bit jerky and I solved that problem by opening the Start menu, clicking All Apps, and then clicking the AMD Quick Stream Icon at the top of the list of apps. That produced a menu and I turned on the Quick Stream "Boost". Back to youtube and the videos are now minimally acceptable to me. I'll try it for a new more days to see if I'm completely happy and, if not, I'll just go back to Windows 7 again. It's nice to have youtube functional again and I hope this advice can help anybody else out there who got what I call the "No YouTube Video Surprise" after taking the bait for their free Windows 10 upgrade.

And another thing Mr. Behrendt, with an announcement by Mr. Collins of this magnitude, why is it that you are unable to restrain yourself from turning the Comments stream into the Ken Behrendt Show, at least this one time? With such trivial matters, no less. Ever heard the phrase "staying on topic"? Have you that little respect for the man and his work?

    4. Well, Mark, think of it this way. I mentioned a fix I found for the Windows 10 OS I recently downloaded that many others will also desperately be looking for shortly. When they google about such a fix, perhaps millions of them will see my post here and come here to read it. Of them, perhaps a hundred thousand or so will read the rest of the page and, of them, thousands could become interested in the Bessler story. Of them maybe hundreds will decide to buy one of John's books and put some extra pound notes into his pockets. Trivial? I don't think so and I'm sure John doesn't think so. He, like me, wants to expand awareness of Bessler and his wheels. That way, John will have an even bigger audience for his grand unveiling. I can't think of any better way to show respect for John and his efforts.

    5. You know what would work even better? Getting the supposed high volume traffic on your own blog and linking to John's blog. That would still drive traffic John's way without all the off topic garbage cluttering up his blog.

    6. I've considered my own blog on occasion, but I honestly don't think I could improve much on the excellent job John is already doing here. Yes, it would be nice if everyone posting on a blog or forum stayed strictly OT at all times, but, like real life conversations, the focus often meanders a bit within each blog. Not necessarily bad because it gives some variety, especially for those that might not find the formal topic that interesting.

    7. Ken, I didn't realize you and John were coauthors of this blog, with you being the one who guides the direction of the topics in his absence. Well done. A step up from that cosmicvault site you considered on some other wasted occasion.

    8. No, at the end of the day, this is John's blog, not mine and he is the one that chooses the topics. So far, I've found his selections to be both interesting and thought provoking ones. My old cosmicvault site (at cosmicvault.tripod.com) was completed back around 2003 or so. I made it to practice the material I learned in an online HTML course. Also, it gave me a chance to promote that first book I did on paranormal phenomena since having to pay other site owners to put ads for the book on their sites sort of turned me off. The various articles on it were originally intended to attract readers so they could see my book ad! At the time I did not realize that first book would be followed by four more! The latest one (published in early May of this year) is not shown on the list of book ads at the top of my site's pages. It is titled "Essays from the Edge of Science". I haven't got around to doing an ad for it yet. It contains expanded and updated versions of many of the site's individual articles, some never before seen material, and, so far, is selling well. I'd just love to add a sixth volume to my bibliography. One that, finally, after 300 years provides the reader with "the" solution the to the Bessler wheel mystery. Well, maybe after the testing of model # 1203, I'll finally be able to fulfill that dream...

      Delete
    9. Hello Ken. May I ask what "selling well" is? I don`t know this genre. Are you self publishing?

      Delete
    10. My books are produced by a publisher in Indiana called "AuthorHouse" (if anyone is thinking of writing a book, they I would urge you to visit their website and see what they have to offer). The books are, technically speaking, self-published, but, because of the use of Print On Demand technology, the up front costs are minimal. My definition of "selling well" is that I expect to recover all of the up front production costs on a book in a few years. After that, all of a book's royalties are pure profit. I get a nice royalty check every quarter and have now for over a decade. I tried "mainstream" publishers in the past and was turned off by the delays, quirky editors, one sided publishing contracts, and a host of other annoyances that can actually discourage an author from ever writing anything! I don't regret my decision. All of my books are also available as ebooks and can be downloaded on all of various ebook readers, tablets, computers, and whatever. Physical copies can also be ordered through about 25,000 "brick and mortar" bookstores worldwide and each is US copyrighted and assigned an ISBN number. The physical copies are manufactured to the highest quality standards on acid free paper that will not yellow with age and are only manufacturer as orders for them come in. They are probably superior in quality to many of the books produced by "mainstream" publishers using tradition printing technologies.

  9. You want to expand awareness of Bessler and his wheels. But like so many others you have a history of not sharing any mechanisms you work on or clues you supposedly interpret. So you are a narcissistic personality only.

John is going to share and not just raise Bessler awareness but actually try and solve the mystery by open sourcing, with or without a working wheel.

    1. On "another free energy site" I had a habit of sharing all of my Bessler research openly and got much approval for my approach. Here, not being able to post graphics, I am restricted to verbal descriptions only and have still managed to give fairly accurate qualitative and, on occasion, quantitative details about my current research. If I am successful in finding "the" secret of Bessler's imbalanced pm wheel mechanics, there will be a major book produced on the topic and you can expect the design I've found to be big news in the pm chasing community.

      Delete
    2. Your memory is faulty. On Besslerwheel.com you didn't openly share your research. You covered your animations so nobody could see the levers and ropes and showed the output graphs and logs only.

      Delete
    3. Hmmm...I don't remember that exactly, but I may have blacked out some of the model's levers if I truly believed their design was "it". However, I did post many designs for non-Bessler wheel devices with all of their details presented. All I can say is that my current Bessler research compared to earlier research is like comparing the starship "Enterprise" to the Wright Brothers first airplane!

    1. Lol! Thanks for posting that cartoon I made on the night before I publicly resigned my membership in "another free energy site". It took about a half hour to complete. The url for it clips off the full title of the image which was "kensascension". Some may have thought that I was comparing myself to Jesus, but I just trying to show that, with continuing Bessler wheel research, there would come a future time in which I would figuratively "ascend" to the "realm of Total Bessler Awareness" where the Bessler researcher understands enough of the technical details of Bessler's wheels to duplicate them! Actually, although that cartoon is now almost nine years old, I do currently believe that I am closer to entrance into that joyful realm than I've ever been before! If the next model I test, # 1203, is successful, then I will have truly entered that realm!

    1. Sorry to keep everyone waiting on the edge's of their seats. But, I had a rough day today and I'm getting ready to take a quick nap to recharge my metabolic batteries. In a few hours, I'll get up, eat, and then see if I can complete the CoM positional stability test on # 1203. So far, I'm feeling very optimistic. I certainly do hope that this is finally "it" because I really think I've gone as far as possible with the DT portrait clues. Well, I (we) will know soon enough and, for historical purposes, I will record the exact time of day, date, etc. that I realized the design was working. That information will then, basically, split the pm chasing world's history into two parts: BR and AR. BR stands for "Before Rediscovery" (of Bessler's imbalanced pm wheel mechanics) and AR stands for "After Rediscovery" (of Bessler's imbalanced pm wheel mechanics). Just thinking about this gives me goose bumps!

  13. Ken,
    Laptop here: Toshiba Satellite C55D - AMD A6-5200 Radeon HD 2GHz (with Quick Stream) - Win10 Home 64 bit - 4GB RAM
Plays 1080p video flawlessly on YouTube and all other sources so far. On both Firefox and Edge.
I"m sorry that you're having compatibility problems, but I doubt that "millions" of others are having the same experience.

    Suugestions:
Wait patiently for a patch to become available. Buzz on the Internet is that both MS and AMD are continuing to work on refining compatibility.
Realize that Win10 is set up to allow rollback to your previous system as you left it (it is in it's own recovery partition) within a month from the time that Win10 was installed. Start Menu -> Settings -> Update & Security -> Recovery
    Easy-peasy.

Sorry, but I didn't think that your rebuttal was humorous.

    1. Your Toshiba C55d may be working nicely because it has an Intel Celeron processor with integrated graphics. This one I'm using has the cheaper AMD "Vision" processor which also integrates the GPU in with the CPU. Apparently, Windows 10 just does not work well with the AMD chip for some very technical reason and requires a lot of tweaking to make it function with a minimum level of reliability. Anyway, I was just starting to watch an interesting youtube movie when, all of a sudden, the picture became unstable and turned into a patchy, blocky mess and I could not straighten it out. That was enough aggravation for me. I immediately decided to use the restoration option and now, after about 20 minutes, I'm back to where I started: pages scrolling smoothly and downloading quickly, everything right where I know where to find it, and, most importantly, youtube and other videos which are playing fine again. As I was preparing to jettison Win 10, I was allowed to tell MS what I thought of their new OS. I told them I was not thrilled with its overall appearance and it just did not work well with my particular Toshiba model. If others are finding it acceptable, then great. I, at least, got to sample it and, no doubt, will eventually meet up with again on a future "previously owned" machine which, hopefully, will have a processor and graphics card that is more compatible with it. However, I have a feeling that this is not the last OS MS will come out with, especially if it turns into another flop like Win 8 did (ever wonder why we did not see Win 9?). I'm predicting that Win 11 will look a lot more like Win 7!
