The Legend of Johann Bessler’s Perpetual Motion Machine

I have noticed that posting, “ The Legend of Johann Bessler’s Perpetual Motion Machine”, which I repost occasionally, has recently gathered a lot of visits from people who seem to have googled Johann Bessler and come here to find out more about him.  I assume that there are still a lot of people who have never heard of him which I feel I should do something about.  I’m not sure what I can do about that until someone discovers his secret, but I can continue to occasionally repost the brief details of his life to get more people interested in trying to reconstruct his wheel.

The Legend of Bessler's wheel, or the Wheel of Orffyreus

On 6th June, 1712, in Germany, Johann Bessler (also known by his pseudonym, Orffyreus) announced that after many years of failure, he had succeeded in designing and building a perpetual motion machine. For more than fourteen years he exhibited his machine and allowed people to thoroughly examine it. Following advice from the famous scientist, Gottfried Leibniz, who was able to examine the device, he devised a number of demonstrations and tests designed to prove the validity of his machine without giving away the secret of its design.

Karl the Landgrave of Hesse permitted Bessler to live, work and exhibit his machine at the prince's castle of Weissenstein. Karl was a man of unimpeachable reputation and he insisted on being allowed to verify the inventor's claims before he allowed Bessler to take up residence. This the inventor reluctantly agreed to and once he had examined the machine to his own satisfaction Karl authorised the publication of his approval of the machine. For several years Bessler was visited by numerous people of varying status, scientists, ministers and royalty. Several official examinations were carried out and each time the examiners concluded that the inventor's claims were genuine.

Over several years Karl aged and it was decided that the inventor should leave the castle and he was granted accommodation in the nearby town of Karlshafen. Despite the strong circumstantial evidence that his machine was genuine, Bessler failed to secure a sale and after more than thirty years he died in poverty. His death came after he fell from a windmill he had been commissioned to build. The windmill was an interesting design using a vertical axle which allowed it to benefit from winds from any directions.

He had asked for a huge sum of money for the secret of his perpetual motion machine, £20,000 which was an amount only affordable by kings and princes, and although many were interested, none were prepared to agree to the terms of the deal. Bessler required that he be given the money and the buyer take the machine without viewing the internal workings. Those who sought to purchase the wheel, for that was the form the machine took, insisted that they see the secret mechanism before they parted with the money. Bessler feared that once the design was known the buyers could simply walk away knowing how to build his machine and he would get nothing for his trouble.

I became curious about the legend of Bessler’s Wheel, while still in my teens, and have spent most of my life researching the life of Johann Bessler (I’m now 75). I obtained copies of all his books and had them translated into English and self-published them, in the hope that either myself or someone else might solve the secret and present it to the world in this time of pollution, global warming and increasingly limited energy resources.

Not long after I was able to read the English translations of his books, I became convinced that Bessler had embedded a number of clues in his books.  These took the form of hints in the text, but also in a number of drawings he published.  Subsequently I found suggestions by the author that studying his books would reveal more information about his wheel.

For some ideas about Bessler’s code why not visit my web sites atwww.theorffyreuscode.com or see my work on his “Declaration of Faith” at http://www.orffyreus.net/

Also please view my video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BWVKtpuzn0
It gives a brief account both the legend and some more detail about some of the codes.

The problem of obtaining a fair reward for all his hard work was anticipated by Bessler and he took extraordinary measures to ensure that his secret was safe, but he encoded all the information needed to reconstruct the machine in a small number of books that he published. He implied that he was prepared to die without selling the secret and that he believed that posthumus acknowledgement was preferable to being robbed of his secret while he yet lived.

It has recently become clear that Bessler had a huge knowledge of the history of codes and adopted several completely different ones to disguise information within his publications. I have made considerable advances in deciphering his codes and I am confident that I have the complete design.

Johann Bessler published three books, and digital copies of these with English translations may be obtained from the links to the right of this blog. In addition there is a copy of his unpublished document containing some 141 drawings - and my own account of Bessler’s life is also available from the links. It is called "Perpetual Motion; An Ancient Mystery Solved?

Bessler's three published books are entitled "Grundlicher Bericht", "Apologia Poetica" and "Das Triumphirende...". I have called Bessler's collection of 141 drawings Maschinen Tractate, but it was originally found in the form of a number of loosely collected drawings of perpetual motion designs. Many of these have handwritten notes attached and I have published the best English translation of them that I was able to get. Bessler never published these drawings but clearly intended to do so at some point.

As I often say, the solution to this device is needed now.  Anything that might help towards cleansing the planet of pollution and green house gas emissions, by providing clean cheap alternative energy sources should be encouraged in its discovery and development to counter global warming.

To recap the evidence in support Johann. Bessler’s claims, see my previous blog at,

  1. Hi...this is in continuation from previous blog... Wherein, anon dtd 30th Jan 08:33 makes a point by saying this:-

    Anon 30 Jan 08:33;

"JC was actually doing that for years here as he kept hinting he finally had the secret of B's wheels and would have a runner any day to prove it. He managed to keep everyone here in a prolonged state of anticipation"

Well, to understand JC sir clearly we can take the help of astrology... Astrology is good but only if you know how to understand it... It can reveal a lot about hard to understand things... Sometimes, We are guided or forced to act in a certain way due to the zodiac influence... Zodiac sign study can really reveal very intimate details... But we usually brush them aside... For example, let us see what astrology is able to tell us why a person born under certain zodiac sign take others for a ride... (Actually, persons born under the signs of Scorpio, Pisces, Virgo, Aquarius, Capricorn and Taurus have their own way of deceiving others...) Among these Scorpios are the most notorious... While Capricorns will leave you once their job is done... Taureans are very upfront in this approach...

Let's see how our JC sir fares as he falls under Aquarius... pls note this is not intended to malign him... We know that it is only due to his nobleness and grace we are thriving here... But sometimes he may be forced to act in a particular manner for reasons unknown to him or anyone else... I would request you to take it in a sportive way... Please also note that I have personally gained to understand many intricacies of life with help from the occult... I know how much astrology can be trusted...

    Aquarius

People of this zodiac sign give false hopes to people, in the first go itself. However, when the time comes, they will step back from their offer and will make you feel deserted and disheartened. They are extremely deceptive and will completely break your spirit even before you have the chance to recover from it.

    1. Wow, SK, your astrology analysis perfectly describes JC! Yes, yes, YES!...he does "give false hopes to people" and is "extremely deceptive and will completely break your spirit even before you have the chance to recover from it." Of course, we've all suspected that for years now, but it's nice to see how you 100% verified it for us with astrology. He's not to be trusted! Let your comment serve as a warning to anybody who might consider ever trusting him! This blog could use more people here with your keen insight into the human mind.

  2. Well, you are not serious and you are trying to provoke JC sir and this is not good...Ken... If we start misusing or playing with the facts people will lose faith and also the credibility will get damaged...

Astrology and other predicting sciences like numerology cannot be ignored... They are great tools... People usually discard them by going through some general and wrong predictions initially... It is like throwing the baby...

Bessler believed in it... Numerology clearly States that persons born on dates which singles out to 4 and 8 should never reside in a house bearing the numbers 4 and 8 or which singles out to 4 and 8 when added... (Birth dates 4,13,22,31 or 8, 17, 26,etc.,)For if they do so calamity and tragedies will strike them... I have found this to be very true... I was born on 13th and am completely battered... I abandoned that house bearing number 4... didn't even bother to collect my belongings...i ran away from it... it was even seriously haunted by ghosts which pestered me like hell... that was when numerology came to my rescue... believe it or not... I never misguide anyone... I know I can be dead anytime... this life is too brief and fragile... can't risk anything... especially credibility... We completely don't know why Bessler changed his name... Perhaps, JC sir can explain this better... What I Love about JC sir is that he knows Bessler details like no one else... I am simply boggled... This one thing makes me look up to JC sir with awe... People usually steal info from him... Ramesh Menaria could have taken certain details from JC sir books... One should be sincere, honest and grateful... Otherwise, they lose credibility... I strongly believe in this... Never look down on anybody... You never know from where help or guidance can arrive... Never criticise anyone... Most of the times I am wonder struck at JC sir... He knows more than anyone about Bessler but not anything about the internal mechanism... For this you need quite another approach...

In a certain way I feel sorry about Ramesh... I have a feeling he could have left us long back... I will find this out by visiting his permanent residence or by contacting his colleagues... He is a man whom we cannot ignored eventhough he was not good to JC sir...

His approach to Bessler truth was Better than how JC sir tries to... This much I am very sure... But, at the same time, JC sir can't be ignored... He is a legend... He has visited bessler's birth place... He has sacrificed his entire life like no one else... I have gained a lot by associating with him... I can't imagine losing him... You will never be able to find another man quite like JC sir again... We will lose charm... As his birthday approaches I sincerely wish to convey my heart felt wishes to him for good health and happiness and long life... He should live to see his life dream come true... We just can't afford to Miss him...

Somehow, I feel sad for Ramesh... If he had lived longer he would have beaten us in this race... For he was on the right track...

    1. "We completely don't know why Bessler changed his name..."

The best explanation I've read is that "Orffyreus" sounded like "Orpheus" which is why Bessler used it especially after he was able to use the ROT13 decoding method to turn his actual name "Bessler" into "Orffyre" to which he added the "-us" to make it sound like a Latin name.

Orpheus is a hero from ancient Greek mythology, most famous for his ability to play a magical golden lyre which the god Apollo gave him when he was born to help him learn how to make music which he quickly did as he got older. His music and singing were so powerful that they could charm the wild animals of the forest, streams would pause, and trees would bend a little closer to hear him. He could even make rocks dance with his music and singing!

One night Orpheus and his wife Eurydice were walking through a forest and she stepped on a snake that bit her. She died from the venom and her soul descended to the underworld. Orpheus was so desperate to save her that he found out how to descend to the underworld and then used his magical musical abilities to charm everyone down there even the god of the underworld, Hades, who was so saddened by Orpheus' mournful music that he decided to allow his wife's soul to follow him up to the Earth's surface again so it could rejoin her body and bring her back to life. One of the things his music also did down there was to cause an ever turning wheel (used to punish King Ixion) to stop moving. So the mythological Orpheus was associated with some sort of perpetual motion wheel!

Because Orpheus was impatient and didn't follow the instructions he was given by Hades (he was told NOT to look back at Eurydice during their climb, but he did so anyway because of how happy he was to see the Sun again and wanted to share his joy with her), Eurydice didn't make it back to the surface with him and her soul was immediately dragged back down to the underworld. Orpheus then spent the rest of his life singing mournful songs about his lost love that made everyone who heard them start crying. Eventually, he was murdered by the women of Trace at an orgy because he had offended the god Dionysus by preferring to worship the rival god Apollo.

Bessler probably figured that the weights inside of his wheels were like the stones that Orpheus could make move and dance about with his music so that they seemed to come alive. Also, Bessler was able to save the life of one of his young female patients who had been poisoned and who he later married and that may have reminded him of how Orpheus tried to save the life of Eurydice. Also, like Orpheus, Bessler had had involvement with a perpetual motion wheel.

    2. Very kind words Suresh, thank you. The Orpheus connection is simply luck. I once tried every combination similar to ROT13 but trying all the other options other than the 13th letter along, and Orffyre was the only pronounceable one. He used it to begin his mammoth coding enterprise, hiding information in front of our eyes, disguised as innocent or meaningless text. I may not have proven the secret of the wheel but I do have a wealth of decoded stuff which I’m tempted to share but I’m determined to wait until I’ve built this last version of the wheel.

    3. Nice summary of the Orpheus legend, anon 05:05.

I looked up the legend of King Ixion and it was interesting. He was the son of the god Ares and became the king of the Lapiths in Thessaly, Greece. He murdered his father in law because he stole some of Ixion's prize horses as a bride's price payment for Ixion's wife that he owed but refused to pay. Killing your relative was considered a big crime in ancient Greece and even a king could be banished unless another king absolved him of his crime, but none of the other kings would do that and Ixion was about to be shunned by everyone and forced to wander around Greece like a beggar for the rest of his life. Fortunately for him, Zeus who was the biggest and most powerful god of ancient Greece heard about his situation and had pity on him and gave him a full pardon for his crime.

Zeus liked him so much that he even invited him up to a banquet in Olympus which was supposed to be a huge temple on top of Mount Olympus in Greece. Instead of just relaxing and enjoying his meal, Ixion began to follow Zeus' gorgeous wife, Hera, around trying to seduce her. When Hera told Zeus about it, he couldn't believe that any guest to his temple on Mount Olympus could act like that. To test Ixion, Zeus made a duplicate of Hera out of a cloud which, for a god, is an easy thing to do.

As soon as Ixion saw the duplicate of Hera, he started to try to seduce her and wound up sleeping with her. Afterward he started bragging to the other gods up there about what he had done. When Zeus found out what happened with the duplicate Hera he made, he went into a rage and had Ixion tied to wheel that eventually wound up in the Greek underworld known as Tartarus which was ruled by the god Hades. To punish Ixion, the wheel turned forever over a fiery pit so every time Ixion reached the bottom he would be roasted.

Tartarus was not like the Christian version of Hell. It was just a place where the souls of all the dead went to spend some time and was not a place of eternal punishment for them. They stayed there until they could eventually get reincarnated again in some newborn baby's body. But, there were a few exceptions to this rule. Anyone who did something really bad in life, like trying to seduce Zeus' wife, might find himself down there being punished severely for eternity. In Ixion's case that required a perpetual motion wheel. I'm sure that Bessler would have read about this legend of King Ixion and the ever turning wheel he was punished with as he was researching the subject of perpetual motion. Maybe Bessler even thought he'd find some clues about how to make a pm wheel in the legend?

I guess the moral of this legend is that if the most powerful and jealous god in the universe takes a liking to you and invites you up to his temple for a party, you better not even think about fooling around with his beautiful wife if you know what's good for you!

      Delete
    4. Poor King Ixion. It sounds like he had a case of "hot pants" that got out of control when he attended that banquet. Then Zeus decided to show him what a really bad case of hot pants feels like! Lol!

    5. Here's a 1731 etching that shows how some thought King Ixion was punished. Bessler may have seen this etching and if so he probably identified with the anguish a wheel can cause in one's life! The wheel is not self-moving, but has to be slowly turned by someone's immortal soul being tortured by having to perform the task for eternity. The fire that burns Ixion is to the right instead of under the wheel. His hands and feet are bound with poisonous snakes. I can't quite make it out, but there might be a snake wrapped around his genitals and crushing them by constriction!

That Zeus...no one can ever say he was lenient when it came time to punish someone who had tried to fool around with his wife!

    6. "The wheel is not self-moving, but has to be slowly turned by someone's immortal soul being tortured by having to perform the task for eternity."

IIRC, there were people in Bessler's time that were convinced he was into sorcery and that his pm wheels were actually being turned by demons that he had sold his immortal soul to Satan to be able to command to make them turn during demonstrations. I wouldn't be surprised if their beliefs were being considered when this picture was made. I'll bet that if a working pm wheel is made today, we will still see some of the born again religious types out there who know nothing about mechanics "explaining" them by claiming that they are being turned by demons and they won't want to have anything to do with them or use them for power! They wouldn't want to risk a wheel's evil demons escaping from it and then possessing them! So much for living in the educated 21st century...

  3. Those are good words to follow as well today.. With the secret in his notebooks, I can imagine Bessler to be quite arrogant and difficult to deal with, with the Instantaneos realization that he now possessed knowledge that no one else possesses his EGO would have been out of control. Now, everyone was after him. or at least so in his mind

  4. Bessler changed his name...

Was it done to avoid ill-luck?...
Was it done to gain more respect?...
Was it done for fashion's sake?...
Was it done for change of identity?...
Was it done because he just didn't like his original name?...
Was it done to confuse others?...
Was it done to reduce the length of his actual name?...
Was it done to make himself unique?...
Was it done under someone's cooersion?...
Was it done to make himself look more sophisticated?...
Was it done to match his name with the wheel as the first letter O of the new name looked like a wheel?...
Was it done to contain the wheel's secret within the new name in coded form?...
Was it done to obtain some benefit from the govt?...
Was it done to look more pious or wise?...
Or was it done for any other purpose prevalent in those times?...

For whatever reason it could have been, one thing is clear that it has added to the mystery that surrounds him, isn't it?...

  5. It is a distraction. It has nothing to do with how the wheel functioned. It has to do with ego. Nothing of interest there.

  6. Or there is something of interest there, but less fanciful than suggested above, and possibly quite mundane. Or all of the above. Maybe even an unplanned connection of coincidence. But fwiw I think B. planned most things and left little to chance.

    1. "ROT13 => MT13"

There's that number 13 again which SoS keeps telling us has special meaning in the Bible and in numerology and is actually considered a very lucky number. ROT13 only works because, quite conveniently, the German alphabet, like the English one, has 26 letters in it and 26/2 = 13. Being so religious and into numerology, it's only logical that Bessler would have wanted to use a pseudonym based on the number 13. He probably considered it a way of praising God and hoped it would bring him God's blessing and luck in finding the secret of making a pm wheel. Looks like it worked for him!

William G. McMurtry aka Bill McMurtry who owns the excellent, but now unavailable www.orffyre.com Bessler website and still occasionally posts over at BW forum used the ROT13 method like Bessler did to turn his first name "Bill" into "ovyy". He then added the "-us" to make his username of "ovyyus". Unfortunately, that didn't help him find a solution to the Bessler wheel mystery.

  7. Bessler was a Monkey...

Yes, you heard it right... Let me explain...

There are many legends in Chinese lore and one of them states that before departing from earth Budha summoned animals for a swimming race and assured them that as gift the first animal that crossed the river would get the first zodiac sign and so on... hearing this only twelve animals reached and took the plunge...

The rat thought that he may not be able to win and so took a ride on the Ox's back and when the shore neared he jumped into the water and reached first... Even today, it can be seen that persons born under the rat sign are very cunning... The monkey was the ninth to reach... The Chinese calendar is divided into twelve year cycle as per these animals...
The Chinese horoscope is based on these 12 animals signs... each having its own year in the cycle... The animal ruling year in which one is born exercises a profound influence on his life... As the Chinese say; this is the animal that hides in your heart...

The year Bessler was born 1680 is the year of the monkey...

Monkeys are highly intelligent, witty and ingenious, people born in the Year of the Monkey are known as the jokers and pranksters of the Chinese Zodiac. If you're born in this year, you can do almost anything you set your mind to. The Monkey is the most versatile among all the signs. You're original in thinking. You dislike routine, love acting and playing a part, and love to talk and exchange news and ideas. You can be very generous and sensitive to the needs of others, but often misunderstood. Sometimes, your confidence can appear to be aggressive and your desire to help may seem patronizing and big brotherly.

  8. Curiously, B's. MT woodcuts use the old German 24 character alphabet for lettering. Where 'i & j' and 'u & v' are the same. See MT's 30 and 121 and follow the lettering sequencing. We know he used the later 26 letter alphabet in his name cypher and in his spelling of some of his writings.

    1. I had a bit of a discussion with Stewart over this, did the alphabet have 24 or 26 letters? It depends on what you do with it. Bessler added Johann Ernst to his baptismal forenames. Johann was a popular names, but he could have used Ivan but that would not have given him W from J using ROT13. But the letter ‘I’ would give ‘V’ from ROT13 which was not the 55 he got from W as Roman numerals. Confused? 😆

  9. The green party in the US has already decided the direction of clean energy, and it will be limited to the wealthy wind mill producers. While they don't provide effective and consistent energy, they do provide a wind fall of wealth to the company owners which in turn result in heavy dark money donations back to the politicians pushing this technology. You are not only waisting your time, you are putting your lives at risk by attempting to displace the wind power elitists. You will never succeed, but I guess maybe your inventions might be suitable as an executive desk ornament.

    1. Windmills are a dead end. To provide our current power needs with wind turbines would require us to cover half of the land area of the US with them! The same goes for solar panels. Nuclear power requires a lot of fossil fuel powered refining of the uranium from its ore which releases a lot of carbon into the atmosphere and then creates a nuclear waste storage problem after the nuclear fuel rods have been used in reactors. One possible solution is fusion power, but we are still decades away from practical fusion reactors. The field of fusion research has been a "few decades" away from fusion reactors since the 1970's!

Everyone should try to see Michael Moore's documentary "Planet of the Humans" mentioned in the last blog. The Green Party definitely does not want people seeing it!

Yes, in case it fails to make it big then it can end up as a museum piece... Or an amazing toy...

It may find use in remote or rural areas especially where there is scarcity of wind or water or both...

BW can be used in far reaches of outer space Just built on a magnetic platform... where there's scarcity of solar power...

BW may create some sort of uproar in the scientific community...

  11. @fletcher: Thanks for your posts.

I have nothing with ROT13 or MT13. The number and the drawing. We all agree that it is a non-runner. I myself think it is not even close to the final solution. Too little resemblances with the toy page. Unlike MT24 and MT25 for instance.

Another number for us to ponder: 45.

There can be no doubt that whatever the design will be, it must comply with the known laws of motion and gravity. It's how nature works and can not be ignored. The tangent of 45 degrees is 1 and is a tipping point in mathematics. If you want to fire your cannonball the maximum distance you need a tilt of 45 degrees.

    * It will explain the eight bangs heard.
    * One crossbar could be just a simple line and not a "cross".
    * "Connectedness" would only involve opposite mechanisms/weights.

If there is any number important to PM than it should be 45.

  12. Below is what I believe is the only strong evidence we have but someone correct me if you have more info.
    - Prince Karl's attestation to the BW being legitimate.
    - Wheel running for long period behind locked door.
    - Bessler standing firm against detractors, risking death if wheel proven fake.
However, none of which are undenyable absolute proof. In fact, only the wheel running while locked up for a long period would be considered somewhat factual proof. If you think about it, any of these key pieces of proof could have been faked. Not that they were, but they could have been. So where does that put us, not in a good place I am afraid. Compare this to other PM devices down through history and compare evidence. I would say the Buzzsaw stands up very well against the BW proof, and there is a wheel, albeit incomplete. Too bad the wheel was kept hidden from everyone for so many years after being recovered from the farm. Who knows how many BW investigators of the day could have possibly come up with something. Now it sits collecting dust in someone's basement, again locked away from the world and investigations.

Several sims of the "Buzzsaw Wheel" were made years ago on BW forum and they all showed it was a nonrunner. (Btw, Ken B. is the one who gave it that name because its inner wheel's rim reminded him of the disc shaped blade from a circular power saw.)

Unfortunately, the buzz saw wheel can never work. It's weights' center of gravity is to one side of the axle, but when you study the mechanics involved, you find that the torques provided by the inner and outer wheels are always equal and opposite to each other. They just cancel each other out completely so there is no net torque left over to drive the axle.

Some witnesses claimed that they saw the original wheel running at high speed and it even threw out one of its cylinder weights that caused some damage. Most likely, however, that happened when the inventor was using an electric motor to make the axle turn so he could check out if the weights were dropping at the right times to be transferred from one wheel to another. One of the little studs at the ends of one of the weights must have gotten pinched between the moving inner and outer wheels and got sheared off. The high speed of rotation of the electric motor driven wheels then shot that weight out of the machine. The invention is nicely made, but it's just another nonrunner. I wouldn't waste any time with it or anything like it.

Here's a short video made of a replica of the wheel that shows how the inner and outer wheels turned relative to each other. The outer wheel always turned at twice the speed of the inner wheel. There are no weights shown in this replica and the two wheels are not supposed to be turning in the same direction:

Pm seeker burnout is one of the high risks we all have to face. Sometimes taking a vacation for a few months lets one's brain heal up and he can then return refreshed and ready to try again with a new approach. For many though it's time to retire and find something else to do to relieve their boredom. Something which provides regular success without too much struggle. That success won't be as nice as getting a working pm wheel but at least you will actually have it before it's time to depart this world.

Sorry to read about your bad pm chasing experience. We've all been there again and again. But before you call it quits for good you might want to get a copy of Ken B's book on Bessler's wheels in which he claims to give the design Bessler actually used and tells you how you can make a working model it. That just might pull you right back into the chase again! Here's a link to a video made a few years ago to promote the book:

  15. I can sympathize with you both. I take a hiatus (sometimes for months at a time, once for a year or two) every now and then. The only thing that keeps me at the coal face is my belief that Bessler was genuine (the real deal). And that his 'true mechanical PM' solution is entirely logical, once known, and able to be mathematically proven in hindsight i.e. we should have thought of and deduced the workaround he chose. And a strong belief that if he could do it then one of us can also do it with the right combination of talents and attributes ! I won't say you have to be lucky, you make your own luck ! Although Ken B. says his wheel SIM shows a runner, SIM parameter errors are very evident, so until said errors are corrected, his SIM can only be viewed as invalid.

"Ken did not give the Buzzsaw its name. The name was coined by old members of this forum that unearthed the wheel long ago."

Ken was an "old member" of the bw forum before he quit in late 2006. I recall reading him calling it the "buzzsaw wheel" on that forum sometime during the spring or summer of 2006. He also simmed it and verified it was a nonrunner. Is there any evidence of anyone else calling it that prior to that time? If not, then he has priority for naming it. It's really not that important though because it's just another nonrunner.

I did an advanced search on BW forum and found a post from Ken B. dated Mon Jul 03, 2006 in which he refers to a wheel talked about earlier by "Doc" as a "Double Buzzsaw Wheel". That Ken B. post can be found here:

      https://besslerwheel.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=30475&highlight=buzzsaw+wheel#30475

However, I have not been able to find any earlier references on BW forum of "Doc" or anyone else calling it a "Double Buzzsaw Wheel". Maybe "Doc" called it that on some other site? If not, then Ken B. would have been the one to coin the name.

Out of curiosity I went to check that video “book“ by K.B. What a pile of crap!. The title itself is simply one big lie, to cheat people out of their $$. I read answers by the author to some comments posted, and his answers tell me clearly: the man has no clue or slightest idea what his talking about, first of all he doesn’t know what the principle of P.M. really is, never mind what the principle of B.W. is. The Bessler’s wheel principle can be described in one sentence (OK maybe to or tree at most) He manages to pack 807 pages! (eight hundred and seven!) between the covers.
Last thing, the sim of his supposedly working 8 weight wheel. Any beginner “lunatic” or “crank” can tell this contraption will never work.
To summarise: what ever is in that book isn’t worth the paper it is printed on.

Anyway, to your point, you have to have known or worked with Ken for a long time to appreciate the effort he has put into the search for PM. All the information in his book is from direct experience or interpretation.

So to be fair and balanced, if you are talking out of experience, please direct us to your works so we can see your accomplishments or what you have proven not to work, such as a remake of Ken's sim. If you are just complaining for complaining sake, when then nothing else to be said.

    2. "Pissed lunatic" sounds like he has the magical ability to do book reviews without being bothered to actually read anything. He thinks he doesn't have to since he knows it all. He claims that the Bessler wheel principle can be "described in one sentence (OK maybe to or tree at most)" yet notice he does not give that one sentence. That's because he is totally clueless when it comes to Bessler's wheels. Most likely he's never actually constructed a wheel or even simmed one. Something like that would be far too much for his tiny brain to handle. His specialty is anonymously ranting and raving on blogs and getting his weird kicks by seeing if he can create some havoc. That is the standard operating procedure for all trolls. He sounds like he's practiced the role for a long time. The best way to treat him is to not give him what all trolls crave the most...attention. As they wisely say "Don't feed the trolls!". Good advice. If we can all follow it, then before you know it he'll be off to some other blog in search of the attention he desperately needs there.

As far as Ken's book is concerned, the few people I've discussed it with who, unlike "lunatic", actually read it tell me it's probably one of the most impressive books on pm, in general, that they've ever read and it's especially nice because its focus is on the most important figure in pm history who is, of course, Johann Bessler. I plan to obtain a copy soon myself.

Obviously, they don't consider it fraudulent. Your opinion is in the minority and probably biased by your own preconceived notions of how Bessler's wheels should work. If you are wrong about them and Bessler actually had the only design that could ever achieve pm and Ken has managed to finally find it, then unless you use his design you will never be able to obtain a working pm wheel no matter how much time you devote to the effort. Having a mind open to new approaches is really a good thing to have and not something to be avoided.

You talk much about doing that, but never quite get around to doing it. The reality, which YOU apparently cannot handle, is that Ken's wheel is the ONLY one that has come along in three hundred years that is clue based AND supported by a working sim. Your own desperate effort to prove to everyone that you had finally solved the wheel last year just showed everyone here how really delusional YOU were and had been all along. You don't want to face that, but it's the plain TRUTH which everyone here knows. So, if you are not just all talk and zero action, then please do prove to us that Ken's book is "full of nothing but nonsense". If you cannot do that, then it will only help to further prove to everyone here how really little YOU know about Bessler's wheels despite your DECADES of posturing. Feel free to delete this comment if YOU cannot face reality and the truth! Meanwhile, please stop putting down a serious Bessler researcher like Ken who has done everything he could to promote interest in Bessler and his wheels and to finally provide us with a REAL workable solution which you NEVER did!
